Five Great Reasons to Live in a Planned Community

Five Great Reasons to Live in a Planned Community

There are countless reasons to choose to live in a planned community like Ten Trails. Here are just a few of the reasons why you should consider Ten Trails as your new hometown!

Beautiful Landscape Design

Ten Trails has partnered with Pacific Landscape Management to create lush and beautiful landscape designs throughout the community’s parks, neighborhoods, and open spaces. Ten Trails has two major community parks that are landscaped and maintained by Pacific Landscape Management, as well as smaller parks scattered throughout the community.

Connect with Other New Neighbors

Making friends and connecting with new neighbors is easy in a planned community like Ten Trails where new neighbors are constantly joining the community from local cities as well as from around the country. Whether you are moving into a new home to raise your new family, or settling into an “empty nester” home, chances are there are plenty of other residents like you who are looking to meet new neighbors. Connect via the community Facebook group, through resident activities like yoga in the park, or at one of our community events.

Walkability

Ten Trails has miles of paved and unpaved walking trails to enjoy. Walking paths weave through parks, open spaces, and neighborhoods, and our trails connect our wooded natural spaces. Enjoy walking, biking, jogging, and more all within the community.

Amenities

At Ten Trails, we have a wide variety of amenities to suit residents of every age. This includes sports courts and equipment as well as walking trails, jungle gyms, pea patches, a kids’ zip-line, a performance stage, and many other fantastic amenities! As the community grows, more amenities will be added for residents to enjoy.

Enjoy a Sense of Community

Ten Trails’ developer envisioned a community where residents could come together to enjoy and connect with their community and to each other. The community was planned to include amenities, park spaces, and community events meant to bring residents and the public together to enjoy gorgeous spaces inspired by nature. www.TenTrails.com 360.469.4043

Tips for Creating a Cozy Guest Room

Tips for Creating a Cozy Guest Room

Many families are reuniting this spring after a long period of not seeing one another due to the Covid-19 pandemic. With out-of-town guests possibly visiting soon for the first time in a while, now is a great time to spruce up your guest room for visitors!

Provide Guests with a Comfortable Mattress

The guest room can sometimes end up being the room where we put things that are no longer needed or that are not quite up to par for the main bedrooms of the house. Instead of furnishing the guest room with an old, saggy mattress, consider buying a new mattress for your guest room so guests will sleep comfortably while they visit.

Clear out the Closet

While it is tempting to leave all your off-season clothes stored in the guest room closet, it is not very welcoming for guests to find they have nowhere to hang their clothes during their stay. Clear out space in the closet so guests can utilize it while they are enjoying a visit to your home.

Provide Basic Necessities

Most guests will remember to bring things they need for travel, but it is always nice to have backup toothbrushes and toiletries in case they have forgotten something. Also be sure to equip your guest room with the basics like a bedside lamp for reading, nightlight for the hallway if your guest room does not have an attached bathroom, and extra pillows and linens.

Make Guests Feel Like They are Staying in a Hotel

For a visit your guests will not forgot, consider stocking your guest room with a small one-cup coffee maker so they do not have to leave the room for an early-morning caffeine-fix. You could also provide a small basket of snacks, a plush robe, and slippers for guests to enjoy. www.TenTrails.com 360.469.4043

Design spotlight: Kitchen Islands

Design spotlight: Kitchen Islands

Ten Trails’ builder partners offer stunning homes in the community with all the latest features in home design trends. One trend that we do not see going away for a long time is the incorporation of an island in the kitchen. From complementary cabinet colors to oversized sinks, kitchen islands in new homes at Ten Trails are on-trend and will fit your family’s modern lifestyle.

Quartz Countertops

Durable and attractive, quartz countertops are a popular choice for kitchen island countertops and can be found in many of the homes at Ten Trails. These engineered stone tops can be made into a variety of colors to suit any décor and will last homeowners years to come with proper care.

Oversized Sinks in the Kitchen Island

Large, double, or oversized sinks are a popular addition to many kitchen islands in new homes. A large open sink is preferable to the divided sinks of years ago, and ideal for washing large pots and pans. Placement of the sink and dishwasher in the kitchen island is a common choice with many new home builders.

Seating for Four or More People

It also common in new homes to have an overhang space on kitchen island countertops to provide an eating area for four or more people. For casual meals or more space when entertaining, having seating space at the kitchen island is a wonderful addition to any new home.

Complementary Cabinet Colors

Kitchen islands also allow home designers to make creative color choices by selecting complementary cabinet and countertop colors for the island and the rest of the kitchen cabinetry. By making the kitchen island cabinetry and countertops a different color than the rest of the kitchen, it creates a distinctive focal point for the space. www.TenTrails.com 360.469.4043

Fast Pace of Home Sales Shows Ten Trails has What Homebuyers Want Most

Fast Pace of Home Sales Shows Ten Trails has What Homebuyers Want Most

Since opening just over two years ago, Ten Trails, the master planned community in Black Diamond managed by Oakpointe Communities, has seen home sales increase at a brisk pace and is well-known in the Puget Sound area as a desirable place to live. There are many reasons why so many homebuyers choose Ten Trails. Here are just a few!

Many Home Builders to Choose From

Currently, Ten Trails has eight different builder options to choose from with home products ranging from townhomes to single family detached homes and even some apartments for rent currently under construction and pre-leasing.

A Walkable Community

Walkability remains one of the top features homebuyers desire in a new community. Ten Trails has miles of paved sidewalks and walking trails in addition to our nature trails that weave through the community’s wooded natural areas.

A Strong Sense of Community

Homebuyers want to also feel a sense of connection and community with where they live. Ten Trails offers this through our many shared community amenities and community events that bring residents together. Even during the pandemic, we have found ways to connect with one another and are looking forward to coming together in person again when guidelines allow for it.

Proximity Close to Nature

Home shoppers are also searching for communities with easy access and proximity to nature. The entire community of Ten Trails is nestled in rural Black Diamond, surrounded by forests and with open and natural spaces integrated throughout the community. It is also located just a short drive from some of the area’s finest outdoors destinations like Crystal Mountain Resort, countless hiking trails, campgrounds, and Mount Rainier National Park. 360.469.4043 www.TenTrails.com

2021 Home Design Trends to Try in Your New Ten Trails Home

2021 Home Design Trends to Try in Your New Ten Trails Home

While many of us are hoping for a much different looking 2021 than 2020, a few home design trends that emerged during the pandemic may continue to stick around. If you are moving into a new home this year or simply need a change in your current one, why not try one of these popular design trends?

An Abundance of Indoor Plants

Indoor plants have always been popular, but they became a huge rage during the pandemic. With many people unable to leave their homes during stay-home orders, and some with limited outdoor space, bringing the outside in through indoor greenery became extremely popular. For newbies to indoor plant care, check with a local nursery to see which plants will do best in your home. Some varieties that are hardy and thrive during winter’s low light in our northern climate include Parlor Palms, Snake Plants and certain varieties of ivy.

Edible Gardens

Edible gardens became a big trend in 2020 with many people reluctant to venture out of their homes as often to get fresh produce, and many farmers’ markets shut down due to the pandemic. Keep the trend going through 2021 with an indoor herb or lettuce garden to carry you through the winter months. You can also begin sprouting spring vegetable seeds indoors in February or March for planting outside once the risk of frost has passed for the season. At Ten Trails, our residents can rent out space for an edible garden in our community pea patches.

Home offices

The home office is not going anywhere in 2021. With many workers continuing to work from home at least part of the time, home office space is here to stay. At Ten Trails, many of our builders have home office space built into their home design so there is no need to convert your space if you are planning to continue to work from home in the new year.

Multi-purpose rooms

In 2020, we saw many of our home’s rooms transformed into multi-purpose areas. Guest rooms become home offices, Basements turned into gyms and loft areas became makeshift school rooms for virtual learning. We believe multi-purpose spaces will continue to be a trend in the coming year and beyond. Get creative and figure out what hidden potential a seldom-used room of your home may have! www.TenTrails.com 360.469.4043

Resolve to Find Yourself a New Home in 2021

Resolve to Find Yourself a New Home in 2021

A fresh start is needed by all of us probably more than any previous year! Why not find yourself a new place to call home in 2021?

More Builder Options Than Ever Before

There are currently six builders actively selling homes in the community, with more builders releasing homes for sale soon! Rudd joined the community in February 2020 and is rapidly selling their gorgeous and modern townhome units. Lennar has been selling homes in Ten Trails since the early months of the community’s opening and continues to sell homes in its Village Collection, with more exciting new releases coming soon. Four new builders joined the community in the second half of 2020. We are happy to have partnered with JK Monarch, Pulte Homes, Toll Brothers and Oakridge Homes to bring more single-family homes options to the community, including new rambler options!

Exciting New Releases Coming

Ten Trails is excited to share news of new releases coming from MainVue and Ichijo in the next several months. Both builders will be constructing homes in the Enclave section of the community. We are looking forward to sharing floorplan and building timeline information soon! We are also looking forward to the release of new single-family home lots from Ichijo sometime this year.

New Trails and Amenities on their Way

As Ten Trails continues to expand in builder options, so will the community’s network of trails and our community parks and amenities. With the goal of having a park within walking distance to every home, homeowners can expect new community park spaces to be built in the future. www.TenTrails.com 360.469.4043

Tips to Keep in Mind When Searching for Your New Home

Tips to Keep in Mind When Searching for Your New Home

Home is more important than ever before. When considering a move, the goal is to get as close as possible to all the elements that you are searching for in your new space. Below are a few tips to consider when researching your move.

Buy vs. Rent

When looking for your new home, consider whether you want to make the commitment to purchase a property or rent your new home. Both options have their advantages, and you can decide what is best for your family given your current circumstances. Ten Trails has options for both purchasing a home or townhome, or renting one of our upcoming apartments in The Village at Ten Trails.

Decide Your Priorities

Before you begin your search for a new home, sit down with your family members and make a list of priorities for your new space. Consider how your family lives and uses your current home and what elements may be lacking. If you work from home, perhaps you are looking for a home with space for an office or option for 1-gig ultra-fast internet speed. If you have a large family, maybe you want a home with enough bedrooms so each family member has their own space. Whatever your priorities, keep them in mind when looking at homes so that you do not get overwhelmed by options and lose sight of your original goals for moving.

Gather Information

Ten Trails has a wealth of resources to help you in your home search! Our team at our Welcome Center can answer many of your questions about the community and assist you with scheduling your model home tour. Signs it May be Time to Move

Signs it May be Time to Move

Moving is a big decision and sometimes it can be hard to know when it is the right time to pack up your things and relocate your home. At Ten Trails, we talk to folks who are thinking of moving everyday and here are the most common reasons we hear why people are contemplating a move:

Lack of Space for How Your Family Functions

One of the most obvious tell-tale signs that it is time to move is when you no longer have room for your family’s things. Maybe you recently added to your family with a new baby or had a family member move in with you. Whatever the reason, when space gets tight in your home, it is time to find a bigger place.

Your Home Needs an Upgrade

The remodel versus move dilemma is one that many homeowners contemplate. As homes age, maintenance and upkeep can increase, and the home’s features may be out of style. Renovations typically take longer and are more expensive than homeowners anticipate, and many just do not want to deal with the hassle of having their home in disorder for long periods of time. That is why many homeowners opt to sell their aging home and upgrade to a new construction option like the homes found at Ten Trails.

Relocating for Work

With so many large corporations and employers based in the Seattle area, we meet a lot of folks who are relocating to the area for work. Moving for a job is one of the most common reasons for relocating to a new city, and many of our residents chose Ten Trails for their new hometown because of a work relocation.

Need to be Near Family Members

A desire to move to be closer to family members is an extremely common reason we hear about why people are looking to move. Raising children away from a family support system can be difficult, and many parents of young children opt to move to be closer to grandma or grandpa, or vice versa. Many families now are opting for multi-generational housing options like those found at Ten Trails. In these types of homes, there is a separate living space located within the larger home that is perfectly sized for grandparents or even older kids returning from college who want to live at home.

Need to Downsize

Have a bunch of rooms in your home that you never use? Do you have a huge yard that takes you days to maintain during the spring and summer months? It might be time to downsize. Empty nesters often make the decision to move to a smaller, lower-maintenance home after their children have left the home. By downsizing, decluttering, and moving to a home that better suits your current needs, you will be able to spend more time doing what you love and less time cleaning and maintaining an empty house. www.TenTrails.com 360.469.4043
